Young Dirty Bastard (son of Ol’ Dirty Bastard), TJ Mizell (son of Jam Master Jay) and Chris Rivers (son of Big Pun) were photographed by Powell in various locations around the Big Apple. The overall aesthetic is gritty, nostalgic, unmistakably New York, and unmistakably hip-hop. The clothing itself is vibrant and colorful, featuring Aztec and paisley-inspired patterns. There's even a playful all-over chicken drumstick print.
In a recent preview on the Moss blog, founder Shahed Serajuddin explained the concept of the lookbook further: "Time and people come to pass, but their influence lives on. When the opportunity recently came about to pay tribute by pairing Ricky, street culture's most iconic photographer, with the children of his subjects of years past. It was a deeply meaningful challenge that I knew I had to take on."
